Owner Monira Silk’s mission at reBlossom is to support every family as they traverse the world of early parenthood while helping the environment. Monira is married to Danny, who works at UGA Police and loves teaching. She has two joyful daughters, Miriam (3) and Nadine (1). Before opening the shop in December 2010, Monira was an ESOL teacher at Chase Street Elementary School and a photojournalist with the Athens Banner-Herald. She has two degrees from UGA and has lived in Athens longer than anywhere else, making it her home. Her father is from Kuwait and her mother is from Ohio. Monira loves yoga, traveling, trying new things and going for walks with her family and sweet dog Emma.
Owner Naomi Al-Haroun’s home state is Ohio, but she’s lived in New York, Kuwait, London and Atlanta before moving to the historic Boulevard neighborhood in Athens four years ago. Naomi and her husband, Wahab, both commute once a week to Atlanta where he is still working M-F and they enjoy weekly dinners with their youngest son, Nasser, and his wife Katie. Her oldest daughter Tammy, son-in-law Bill and two grandchildren Jake, 26, and Kelsey, 22, live in Ohio on a mini farm. Naomi lost her oldest son Kurt in a tragic accident in 1988 when he was 19. Monira Silk is her daughter and business partner. Naomi is an artist and enjoys traveling, reading, decorating, walking her Aussie, Sofia, and most of all spending time with her family.
Shop Mama Tiffany loves working at reBlossom with her daughter Lena (1). Tiffany is married to Michael, a chef at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, and a reBlossom Shop Mama, she worked at a local medical office providing laser hair removal, facials, and other esthetic services. She also has worked at local Athens restaurants like Speakeasy and DePalma’s, after graduating from UGA. Tiffany’s other children are Ringo and Rex (their 2 doggies) and their kitty, Cali.
Shopkeeper Hilario is new to Athens and is already finding that the culture and the people of Athens are fantastic! He moved here with his partner Scott, who is pursuing a PHD at UGA. They have a pug named Archie that is full of personality! Hilario grew up amongst the windy oilfields of Midland, TX but has spent the past 13 years in Phoenix, AZ. While in Phoenix he earned his Bachelor’s in Music Education from Arizona State University and taught in the Gilbert Public Schools for seven years. Teaching and music are his passions along with the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira. He is excited to be part of the ReBlossom family and is looking forward to getting to know Athens!
Karen is originally from Royston, but has lived in the Athens area for 30 years. She is a graduate of UGA and retired from the Barrow County School System in 2010. Karen makes the bibs, play capes and tooth fairy pillows that are sold at ReBlossom. Her son, Shannon, and daughter-in-law, Laura, are the parents of her precious grandchildren. Soleil is 3 and Granger is 2. They are the apples of Mimi Karen’s eyes!
Cindy is honored to say that she was the first ever reBlossom Shop Mama! She now works mainly behind the scenes on reBlossom’s newsletter, website, and blog. Formally a third grade teacher at Chase Street Elementary, Cindy now stays at home and is reliving her childhood with two darling and talkative girls, Aliza (almost 3) and Kiley (almost 1). She is a fabric junkie and loves sewing and crafting, as well as avocados, traveling, chunky babies, psychology, and naps. She really, really dislikes squirrels. Cindy has lived in Athens for nine years, but has no sense of direction and makes a lot of U-turns all over this lovely town she calls home.
