I used to be a perfectionist, and then I became a parent.
Before I had children, if I took the dog for a walk, I was gone over an hour at breakneck speed.
I made countless Shutterfly photo albums for almost every holiday.
I happily worked long hours as a school teacher.
Now that I am a parent, my definition of perfection has changed. To me, parenting is completely imperfect AND perfect at the same time!
When I take Emma for a stroll around the block that lasts all of twelve minutes, I am JOYFUL!
If and when I complete the first Shutterfly book I’ve made in three years, I am going to SHOUT FROM THE ROOFTOPS! It WILL be perfect.
And every day is like this. What seems to be completely imperfect — taking the girls roller skating with one crying for popcorn and the other slip-sliding away like MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This” — is hilariously perfect. There’s no where else I’d rather be.
And as we strive for “perfection” at reBlossom you’ll notice we’ve added a few new items to our shop. As we delve into this new chapter in our business life, we wanted to let you know that we are keeping our mission close to our heart.
The new items we have chosen are coming to you because we believe they are purposeful and will make your life better. We are also striving to seek out companies that are eco-conscious, socially-conscious and designed/made in the USA whenever possible.
We’re happy you’ve decided to share this perfect parenting journey with us, and we are thankful for your support.
P.S. If you are having a particularly imperfect day, perhaps this little clip of the girls roller skating will cheer you up. 🙂
